Plan A: "I am intending to give birth under my own power, and will do all I can to achieve the best outcomes for myself and my baby."
Plan B: "If a medical intervention is recommended in order to achieve the best outcomes for myself and my baby, I need to be given the following information in order to make an informed decision:
- what do you want to do? (procedure, test, intervention, ...]
- why do you want to do that?
- what is likely to happen if I say 'no' - if I don't allow you to do it?"

Oooh, video blogging - fun!
I really like this birth plan - the samples I've seen online are over-detailed (to excess, seeming rather unrealistic) and in books seem to only deal with Plan B, not give precedence to Plan A - that we should be capable of birthing under our own power.
With my 2nd labour imminent, I feel empowered and somewhat excited about the possibility of giving birth through Plan A, rather than being coerced into Plan B (1st labour) in fear that it was better to hand control over to the "professionals".
What I also appreciate about Plan B as listed here is the stressed importance of making an informed decision, and what outcomes are likely if suggestions are denied by the mother.
I love how much this blog site has opened my eyes to the majesty of God's creation through birth!
